As an only child, this book is so valuable!

I didn't grow up with siblings, and my husband had a strained relationship with his. So when we found ourselves with two boys who seemed to fight over everything from the moment the younger one arrived, I knew I needed to take some specific actions to ensure that they had a positive relationship.
My kiddos are 4 and 1 1/2. A lot of the advice in this book is geared towards slightly older kids, but I appreciate that the authors try to give examples for all ages. I'm about halfway through reading the book and have started implementing some of the things that are discussed and seeing improvement already! Next up, to convince my husband to read it, too!

Very good advice for kids ages 7 to 12... Really helped us get our kids ages 7 & 9 to quarrel less! Easy to understand, remember, and implement suggestions (unlike some parenting books). Recommend if you have grammar school age kids.

There are so many great reviews of this book but I found it pedantic ...

I missed something, I think. There are so many great reviews of this book but I found it pedantic and unhelpful. Scenario after scenario made it a boring read and very little of the information was helpful for a mom with two toddlers. I think I might put this away for a few years and revisit it once the kids (3 and 1 1/2) are older. Hopefully, I will find a more applicable book in the meantime and won't have to come back to this one later.
