Subpar and rushed accompanyment to main series

I came here expecting another great work of literature. I bought it the morning it came out, and began reading immediately. I did not get the quality I expected.
The book started out strong, with a small note dissing the movie, however fizzled out very quickly. It seemed rushed and unplanned, and the stories did not fit together. In trying to give each perspective a different personality, Riordan fell to stereotyping each camper, even those with a previously distinguished personality, like Annabeth.
The humor was fairly lackluster, and fell short of Riordan's usual style of humor. References to other books in the multiple series hardly supplemented. The book felt like a heavily scripted elementary school "make learning fun" type of video. It shoved rushed dialogue, subpart history lessons, and awkwardly written sentences down your throat.
I gave this book a two-star rating, instead of one star, because there are points that did make me laugh.
Overall, stick to the main series, because it provides quality plot, characterization, and humor, but most importantly, an interesting and exciting story.

This is a well thought out book for any new camper of Camp Half Blood. As much as I like the pictures, I kinda wanna see the movie from the early days of the camp!
